On 30 April 2025 JPA opened applications for the Program Khas Lepasan Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia Dalam Negara LSPM for SPM leavers. Applications ran until 11 May 2025 at 5 00 pm.

What Is JPA LSPM
The LSPM is a program by Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam JPA. It supports 200 outstanding SPM graduates who scored at least 9A+ in one or more subjects.
Successful students receive a convertible loan Pinjaman Boleh Ubah PBU. This means the loan can later turn into a scholarship depending on your graduation outcome.

Who Can Apply
To apply you must meet several criteria
- Be a Malaysian citizen and under 19 years old or under 20 years old for transition stream as of 31 December in the exam year
- Sit for SPM for the first time in that exam year
- Be in good health and able to complete your studies
- Parents must not be blacklisted by JPA for any legal or administrative reasons
- Not be receiving another similar sponsorship
- Must begin pre university studies by 31 December of the award year
- Priority is given to B40 and M40 families
Assessment Process
Shortlisted candidates are invited to attend the Student Assessment Centre SAC. During SAC you may need to
- Do a psychometric test. If you do not complete it you are considered not eligible
- Go through interviews and assessments to evaluate your readiness
Loan Conversion Terms
After you graduate your loan converts to a scholarship based on your employment or academic results
- If you join public service your loan is fully forgiven
- If you work for a GLC you repay twenty five percent
- If you work in the private sector you repay fifty percent
- If you work overseas or remain unemployed you may need to repay the full loan
- Some cases mention loan waiver based on CGPA but details can change over time
