JKPJ 2025 Complete Guide for SPM 2024 Leavers Seeking Engineering Studies Abroad

the Program Khas Jepun Korea Perancis dan Jerman JKPJ opened for applications. It is a Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam JPA initiative offering a convertible loan sponsorship to selected SPM 2024 leavers. The program supports studies in Engineering Science and Technology and Social Sciences in Japan Korea France and Germany.

What Is JKPJ

JKPJ stands for Program Khas Jepun Korea Perancis dan Jerman. It is a convertible loan based sponsorship aimed at high performing SPM leavers in fields like Engineering Science Technology and Social Sciences. It covers preparatory study before moving on to a bachelor degree abroad.

Why It Stands Out

This loan can be partially or fully waived depending on your final CGPA or if you join the public sector. It is a great way to study abroad with support and manageable repayment terms.

Is It Right for You

  • You must be a Malaysian citizen
  • You must have sat for SPM 2024 for the first time
  • You must be healthy and fit to study abroad
  • Your parents or guardians must not be blacklisted by JPA
  • You must not receive the same level of support from any other agency
  • You must be under 19 years old or under 20 for transfer students as of 31 December 2024
  • Depending on your chosen field you may need strong grades in Bahasa Melayu Mathematics Additional Mathematics Physics Chemistry English and History

Fields of Study and Preparation

JKPJ supports Engineering Science Technology and Social Sciences. You will start with a preparatory course locally before heading abroad for your degree.

What Are the Application Dates

Applications opened on 28 April 2025 at 2 pm and close on 11 May 2025 at 5 pm.

How to Apply

  • Apply online via the JPA portal
  • You must take the Ujian Khas Penajaan Persekutuan UKPP between 28 April and 11 May 2025
  • Print your UKPP confirmation slip and application confirmation slip as proof you applied

Student Assessment Centre SAC and Timeline

  • Shortlisted candidates get invited to attend a Student Assessment Centre SAC
  • SAC includes interviews or tests to assess interpersonal skills and suitability
  • SAC runs 10 June to 12 June 2025 and you must bring original and certified documents like ID birth certificate income statement and more
  • Final results are expected by July 2025

Repayment Terms – How Much You Might Pay Back

Your repayment depends on final CGPA or public sector placement

  • CGPA 3.75 to 4.00 → repay 5 percent
  • CGPA 3.50 to 3.74 → repay 10 percent
  • CGPA 3.00 to 3.49 → repay 15 percent
  • CGPA 3.00 with extended study → repay 20 percent
  • Below 3.00 or failure → repay 100 percent
  • Appointed to Public Sector → full waiver
