The JPA Scholarship 2025 has specific eligibility requirements depending on the applicant’s academic stage and the program applied for. Below are the main conditions:
Contents
General Requirements (All Applicants)
- Must be a Malaysian citizen.
- In good health and with good character.
- Not currently holding any other scholarship or sponsorship.
- Willing to serve a government bond if required.
- Parents/guardians must not be blacklisted by JPA.
For SPM Leavers
- Sat for SPM 2024 examination.
- Age usually below 18 years.
- Minimum achievement of 8A or 9A+, depending on the program.
- Preference is given to science-stream students (Engineering, ICT, Pure Sciences, etc.).
For STPM, Matriculation, or Foundation Graduates
- Must have completed studies in the previous year.
- Age limit: usually 21–22 years old.
- Minimum CGPA of 3.50 and above.
- Must apply for a Bachelor’s degree program recognized by JPA or MOHE.
For Current Undergraduates (First-Year Students)
- Enrolled in first year of degree studies at a recognized local or overseas institution.
- Strong academic performance in previous qualifications.
- Must be studying in priority fields such as:
- Engineering
- Medicine
- Data Science & Artificial Intelligence
- Biotechnology
- Economics & Law
For Specific JPA Programs
1. PPN (National Sponsorship Program)
- Minimum 9A+ in SPM.
- Reserved for the top 20 students nationwide.
- Covers studies at world-class universities abroad.
2. LSPM (Local SPM Program)
- Malaysian citizen and first-time SPM candidate.
- Age below 19 years (or ≤ 20 for transition class students).
- Must obtain at least 9A+ in SPM.
- Preparatory studies must begin before the end of 2025.
3. PIDN (Domestic Degree Program)
- Open to students pursuing first-degree programs in local Public Universities (UA), Premier Polytechnics, or Government-Linked Universities (GLU).
- Age not more than 22 years (23 for transfer students).
- CGPA ≥ 3.30 for non-medical fields, or Pass for medical/dental programs.
- Must have at least 12 months of study remaining at the time of application.
Tip for Applicants: Meeting the minimum eligibility does not guarantee selection, as JPA scholarships are highly competitive and often prioritize top scorers and critical fields of study.
