What Is PIDN
PIDN stands for Program Ijazah Dalam Negara It provides support through Pinjaman Boleh Ubah PBU to eligible students pursuing their first degree locally
Why It Matters
This loan may convert into full scholarship if you serve in public service after graduation Or it may require partial repayment depending on your employer You get better support but still have flexibility
Are You Eligible
- Must be a Malaysian citizen
- Must be currently enrolled in a first degree locally before application closing date
- Must have good health and be able to complete your studies
- You and your parents or guardians must not be blacklisted by JPA
- You must not receive other financial sponsorship at the same level
- Age limit is 23 years or younger for most applicants and 24 years for transfer students
Academic Requirements
- Must not have failed or repeated any subject
- Must not have deferred studies before applying
- Must hold a current CGPA of at least 3.30 for non engineering fields or 3.00 for engineering fields
- Must have at least 12 months of study remaining beyond the current semester
- If coming from a diploma background you may apply using your final diploma CGPA of at least 3.30

What Is Not Sponsored
The following fields or program types are not supported
- Medicine dentistry pharmacy
- Education
- Fields requiring special licenses like aviation
- Public university or IPTS franchise programs
- Double degrees or joint programs unless JPA allows
- Nursing paramedical or pre service programs
- Professional certificates or diploma programs
- Part time distance or online programs without fee subsidy

Repayment Terms
PIDN is a convertible loan with repayment based on your postgraduation path
- Serve in public service → loan converted into full scholarship
- Work in a government linked company GLC → repay 25 percent
- Work in private sector → repay 50 percent
- Work overseas or outside above categories → repay 100 percent
