Who Can Apply
Applicants must meet these requirements
- Be a Malaysian citizen
- Be medically fit with no chronic or infectious conditions
- Not be blacklisted by JPA or under legal action
- Not currently receive sponsorship for the same study level
- Have started your first degree before the closing date of the advertisement
Academic Requirements
You must have
- Current cumulative GPA PNGK of at least 3 30 for all fields except engineering
- PNGK of at least 3 00 if you are studying engineering
- At least 12 months of study remaining not including the current semester
- If you hold a diploma and have not started your degree you can apply using your diploma result with a PNGK of 3 30
Eligible Institutions and Fields
Eligible institutions include public universities Premier polytechnics and government linked universities GLU.
Supported fields include veterinary science science architecture social sciences arts engineering and technical technology.
Fields not supported under PIDN include medicine dentistry and pharmacy. A separate special program called PPF1 is available for those fields.
How Much Support You Might Receive
Students shared that JPA PIDN is paid as a lump sum each semester. One scholar at UTM received RM5 500 per semester.
Others noted the amount can reach RM6 000 per semester depending on course fees.
Loan Conversion Terms
Repayment depends on your career path after graduation
- 0 percent repayment if you work in the civil service
- 25 percent repayment if you work in a GLC
- 50 percent repayment if you work in the private sector
- 100 percent repayment if you work overseas or do not meet the criteria
